Herbie, with a special time-travel lollipop, rides the family grandfather clock back in time, often finding that history is not as historians have claimed. Herbie is just as famous and attractive to women in the past as in the present.

Herbie starts time-travel when he gets his own comic. Eventually, he loses the grandfather clock sending Cleopatra back to her time but is still able to time-travel by other means.

Herbie must go back in time to find out what started the U.S. Revolutionary War. Herbie tells us, the readers, how he travels in time. He sucks a time lollipop, but does not eat it. Instead of his regular grandfather clock, which went back to Egyptian times in #19b, Herbie uses his Dad's museum's.
