While one could call Herbie calm, cool, and collected, one could also call him comically detached or clinically autistic, but he shows genuine empathy for others.

When Herbie was introduced in Forbidden Worlds #73, he showed emotion, but his character grew out of it by the Herbie series. In his first three appearances in Forbidden Worlds, he had eyebrows; they were gone in FW #114, but maybe just behind his glasses.
